Staff Members
The staff members file allows you to list sales personnel and other system users for use in identifying the person responsible for a given document or event. By recording the staff member against all documents and other significant functions the system is able to list and locate documents by staff member, to report on sales and other statistics by staff, and to make document tracking simpler.
As an added facility the staff file provides a sales commission definition. Sales commission can be based on a fixed rate, a rate entered on each staff record or input at the point of sale. Each staff member can use a different method of sale commission calculation.
The configuration screen allows the definition of a default staff member. This staff code is loaded to new documents automatically. This is useful where a particular staff member tends to be the sole user of a particular workstation.
If the staff code specified in the configuration screen has a blank (empty) name then effectively no staff code is loaded to new sales documents. This means that the user is compelled to enter a staff code on each document before it may be completed (ie. Print facilities will not be made available until the document has a valid staff code). This facility can be used to ensure that some attempt is made to identify the sales person on each document.
