Product Import

Where a large range of your products are purchased from the one supplier and that supplier has a product list or product price list available via electronic means (disk, modem, etc) you may wish to consider using the product import facility. This facility allows you to load a Microsoft Access database with the details of a suppliers products. You can then import this information to Acumen. This can be used to either create a new range of products or to update product prices and other details.

When using importing to create new products you will need to consider how product codes and barcodes will be effected. You may choose to use the suppliers code as both your product code and barcode (provided no duplicates exist). Alternatively you may choose to keep the suppliers item code as your barcode and have Acumen select product codes incrementally from the last product on file.
