Stock On Hand
As products are being sold, they cause a reduction in stock on hand and the release of any reservation that the picking system placed on that product. Similarly, as goods are received in on purchase orders or manufacturing orders, then stock on hand is increased. Where there are a number of branches that record stock, the stock figure may also be effected by stock transfers between branches within the company. Accurate stock holdings provide lower stockholding costs, easier determination of purchase requirements, and more accurate figures for the calculation of Profit.
Inevitably, the actual stock differs from the book stock for various reasons such as incorrectly identified product on receipt or sale, spoilage, shrinkage, etc. and you need a stock take to bring it back into line. Acumen gives you the ability to carry out your stock take while continuing to trade thus eliminating those costly shut downs and late nights, just to do a stock take.
Acumen's stock module allows you to view both the available and reserved stock for each product, and to check both the waiting customer orders and the unfilled purchase/manufacturing orders in the system. If you have multiple branches, you can also see the available stocks at the other branches which may be available on transfer to your branch.
