The Basics
Most businesses sell to their customers, products and/or services that they purchase from suppliers and/or manufacture themselves. Before we can conduct any business we will need to provide Acumen with a list of products that we want to sell, the supplier of those products, and/or the materials list for their manufacture, which in turn may require raw materials and the suppliers of those raw materials. We will also need to establish cost and selling prices for our products, having in mind that some customers will undoubtedly be given different prices to other customers. We have also of course, to tell Acumen about our customer base, and any groupings or clubs that these customers belong to. Of course, new products, suppliers, customers, and materials lists can be added as we go along. Some of this information may already exist electronically and can be easily imported into the Acumen system.
In the following sections we will attempt to give you a broad outline of the capabilities of the Acumen system. Remember, if a section is not applicable to your business you can skip over it and pick up on the next part that does apply.
