The Sale
Pressing the sale button on the order will cause it to automatically create a customer sales invoice and delivery docket for the sale of the order. If this is only a partial delivery, the order holds the back order information. In any event, the tender information for the sale will contain any part of the deposit that may be released as part of this sale. This process preserves the selling prices across all the phases of quote, order, and final sale.
Alternatively, you may wish to start with a sale document (such as the case with a retail sale). You can reference an order from the sale document and automatically load it as explained above. If you have POS (Point of Sale) scanners, you can load the sale document with the products simply by scanning their bar code, otherwise you select which items are being sold from the many ways that Acumen allows. In any event, Acumen will select the best price to sell to the customer from the many allowable alternate price structures you have entered for this customer. Within limits, you can also allow the entry of hand pricing if so desired.
If this is a sale to other than an account customer, Acumen will ask for the tender details and tell the operator the change required. At the end of the day, the till banking facility controls the reconciliation between the sales and banking for the till this workstation is attached to, and provides audit capability over cash takings.
