Branch Stock Control

If a branch is nominated as having a stock file then quite a few things are changed. Following is a summarised list:

  • Sales from the branch update the stock at the branch and at the master site.

  • Receipt of goods must be entered at the branch and transmitted back to the master site for creditors reconciliation.

  • Stocktakes are done either at the branch or at the master site. Stock counts entered at the branch are used in that stocktake and in a master site stocktake.

  • Stock adjustments may be entered at the branch and update the branch and optionally the master site. Adjustment entered at the master site are transmitted to the branch before updating.

  • Transfers of stock from the branch must be entered at the branch and update the stock at the branch and at the master site.

  • Transfers to that branch must be received at the branch and update the stock at the branch and at the master site.

  • Purchase orders raised at the master site for the branch must be transmitted to the branch to allow receipt of goods.

  • The branch must execute a stock age at the end of each month in order to roll over month and year to date figures and to update average sales statistics.

  • Stocktakes done at the branch update the branch and the master site.
