Remote Operations

Any station that has no ability to connect to the main files of Acumen via a network is considered to be a remote station. While remote stations themselves behave exactly like off-line stations they can participate in some unique site oriented facilities.

When a station is placed on a network which is not a network connected to the main files this is known as a Remote Site Server situation. Remote site servers are used to provide branch facilities such as Stock control, Customer Orders and Branch Purchasing.
