Charge Accounts
Sometimes you have a customer with multiple branches, or you have multiple people/entities buying goods from you but charging to the one account. In some of these cases you will wish to keep separate delivery addresses but treat all of these buyers as one customer. In other cases you will wish to track each entity as a customer in its own right, however you will still wish to send only one statement and keep only one account balance. The charge account facility lets you do both these things.
To activate the charge account facility firstly make sure you have an active customer record with suitable terms to act as the charge account. This customer record will receive the sales transactions and record the customer balances. Next enter or select the customer record that is to be the buyer. Enter the customer code of the entity to be charged in the Charge To field of the buying customer record.
If the buying customer is merely a delivery address then check the Delivery Only box. The effect of this is that when the buying customer is selected for a sales document the delivery address information will be loaded from the buying customer, then the charge customer will be loaded as the actual customer for that sale. All sales report, balance and transaction details will be recorded against the charge customer.
If the buying customer is to be treated as a customer in its own right then do not check the Delivery Only box. This means that sales information will be recorded against the buying customer while account balance and transaction details will be recorded against the charge customer.
