These are purchase orders placed to cover the bulk of your stock for the regular purchasing period. The regular purchasing period can be defined in days and months but is typically defined as being monthly.
When the order period is defined in months the next purchase order delivery point is considered to be the first day of the month one order period from now. For example if the order period is one month and the date is 15 July, the next delivery point is assumed to be 1 August.
When the order period is defined in days the next order delivery point is considered to be that many days from today (or the date of the purchase order). Thus if the order period is every two weeks (14 days) and today's date is 15 July then the next delivery point is considered to be 29 July.
A regular purchase will order the stock required for the period from the next delivery point up to a date one order period after that date. This time span can be adjusted if necessary.
