Urgent Purchases

Urgent purchases are designed for use in recovering from a critical low stock situation. Use Urgent purchase orders to restock where a Catch Up purchase order cannot arrive in time to cover the shortage. An Urgent purchase will order to cover the expected sales in the period from the delivery time of the fastest supplier (supplier with the best lead time) until the earliest delivery time of the most preferred supplier (ie. the period between the earliest possible stock delivery and a catch up purchase delivery).

Note: When placing an Urgent purchase order it may still be necessary to place a Catch Up purchase order to maintain stock levels until the next regular delivery.
