Tills
You can establish a till in two ways:
Local - a till can be dedicated to a single point of sale. In this case the document batch for the computer matches the banking batch for the till. This is the simplest method of using tills but requires that a cash drawer exist for each and every machine that may accept cash.
Shared - this method allows a single cash drawer to be shared amongst a number of machines. This has the advantage of less hardware but requires a more disciplined banking procedure. Where this approach is adopted it is necessary to keep a current banking batch running for a till. Banking for that till can only be done when this batch is closed. Closing the batch can be done from any machine using the till and all documents from any machine processed after the close will be recorded against the next banking batch.
