Transactions

When journals are processed every journal posting line has a transaction written to the ledger. Transactions record enough detail about a posting to identify the batch or source documents that the transaction is derived from, the amount and the period of effect for the transaction.

When you use the Transaction List screen to view a ledgers transaction the system shows only the current years transactions by default. You can optionally display transactions from all years. This option will provide a list of all transactions for that ledger sorted by period. In this mode Acumen highlights current input year, future and past year transactions separately.
